I have an attic space with a bonus room. The room sits under a high-pitched roof and there's a large triangular space above it which ends with an exterior wall. There is a Cobra ridge vent above the room. During the summer, the attic space gets very hot and it's hard to keep the room cool. Is this workplace harrassment?

I work overnight on a mental health unit. Recently, my manager use still photos from surveillance cameras mounted on the unit and laid them in the employee common area to highlight no-nos for employees. There were comments written such as 'badge not visible', 'no shoes on', 'not compliant with dress code', etc. One of my colleagues removed the photos and complained. I still to this day have not seen them since they were only visible to others while I was off 2 days. Noone has approached me from management to discuss the violations of policy. I am certainly not the only person who goes shoeless at night, or any of the other policy violations, but I find it interesting that they singled me out, seeing that there is a push to get rid of alot of the veteran staff in favor of new blood. There also appears to be an animosity toward me here by the new administration, I may have upstaged the new manager days before by de-escalating a group of clients in a situation that he lost control of. Of legal note: I work in Massachusetts, not sure what the laws here say about this. Also, the cameras are intended to protect staff and clients in the event of a restraint, but increasingly have been used to 'catch' staff in policy violations. The video feed goes to the main hospital; we are a satellite 60 miles away.

How can I get my husband to stop spending so much money on consumable items while at work?

Okay so my husband and I have been married for almost 2 years and have a 16 month son. I am currently self employed and make about half of what my husband is making. We are in the process of closing on a house within the next month and have never (at least since being married) had both our incomes going into the same bank account. Well I just looked at his bank statement and he has spent over $200 in the last 10 days just in food and drinks while he is at work. I keep trying to get him to take his lunch so he won't have to spend so much but even when he does bring a lunch, he still manages to spend $10+ a day on drinks and such. He still thinks we should split EVERY bill in half which I think is ridiculous considering he makes twice as much as I do and I pay for my fair share of everything but I'm tired of feeling like his roommate rather than his wife. Then anytime I ask him to pay for anything, whether it is groceries, clothes (did I mention he has NEVER bought diapers for our son?) and just anything in general, he never has any money left. I am getting so tired of living paycheck to paycheck when we make plenty and if he would stop spending so much, we would be able to start an emergency fund. When we do move into our house, I have told him the money is going to a joint account so that I can budget where all the money is going and to moniter his spending on such stupid things. He gets upset because he says he is the one working to make that money so he should be able to spend it on whatever he wants. I don't know what to do to get him to realize it is ridiculous to spend so much money on things we already have at home. I have told him that once we get moved, that we will have a specified amount to spend on anything we want but if that is gone, too bad. I'm planning on getting rats soon but I only have a pet store by me and no breeders. I know when you get them from a pet store you don't no their background or they could be mean or sick but, when I'm choosing the rat and holding it will it show if it's sick or mean? I'm a college student, and this is my first time living alone. I've never called the cops on anyone before, so I'm just curious if I can call the cops or if I just need to deal with it. My neighbors across from my upstairs apartment keep slamming their door OVER AND OVER. People keep walking up and down the stairs, slamming the door, etc etc. It's 3 a.m. and they've woken me up several times. I have class in the morning and I'm basically just getting annoyed. I've never had this problem before with my neighbors, other then them being a little on the loud side occasionally. I took a peek out of my peephole and it's a three or four different people that keep going up and down the stairs and going in and out of the apartment and they just carelessly let the door shut and it vibrates my whole apartment, not to mention the noise of it closing. This door opening/closing is happening every 2-3 minutes, not to mention they keep making my dog bark like a mad man (can you blame her?). I'm a 20 year old Caucasian female, and the people making all this noise are African American, they look around the same age as me. I'm 16. I have only had my driver's license for a couple of months. Two weeks ago, I got in to a car accident that was 100% my fault. I was driving carelessly and backed into an oncoming car while getting out of a parking spot. I was driving my mother's car reasonably new 1 year old or so. Have the storylines on AMC/OLTL been bad for a reason?

Several years ago, with regard to AMC, I put out the opinion that the writers were deliberately trying to ruin the show so it could be canceled. Everyone told me I was paranoid, but I could not for the life of me understand why TPTB would keep writers like Megan McTavish and Charles Pratt on board when all they were getting was complaints about stupid storylines, plot exaggerations and character ruin. In view of the recently announced cancellations, I don't think I was wrong. I think it was an intention plot by Brian Frons (who BTW assured the viewers that AMC & OLTL were not going anywhere) to bring the ratings down so he could put some low-rent garbage on - like The Chew. Who the heck wants to watch something called The Chew? The Food Network would probably kick it to the curb for the name alone. I don't think TPTB necessarily Knew that soaps would end someday (although it's always possible), but I will go to my grave believing that Frons was directly responsible for the demise of a show that had 40+ year loyalty from viewers in favor of shows that probably won't last more than 6 months to a year.

I'm 15, and I've always had them for as long as I can remember. But now it's really starting to bother me. So why are they like this?

It really doesn't matter what you major in at the community college or even if you get an associates degree or any other kind of certificate from there if your main objective is to eventually transfer and major in Computer Science at a university. And since it's most often the title of the bachelors degree program, the community college will most likely not have a program called Computer Science. The main point of community college if you plan on going into computer science at a university is to just get all of the classes done that you can that will actually transfer over as credit in your computer science program at the university. To figure that out you need to meet with an advisor. Most of the time you can complete all of your lower division credit hours (around 60 total).

When are my tires too old to mount?

I have a 2007 vehicle. Every winter I replace these tires with Snow tires and every spring I switch back to normal tires. I only have 1 set of wheels. The service technician at the local store told me the tires were too old to put on my wheels at 6 years old and were a hazzard.

I'm using a USB drive as my main Ubuntu 10.10 installation. I have a HDD in my computer that I would like to use as "external" storage. I've successfully mounted the HDD as /home/user/HDD, but the permissions on the drive say root. Needless to say, I can't write to the HDD. How do I change the permissions to allow writing to the HDD? What kind of monitor should I get?

I have a 11" MacBook Air. I am looking to get a monitor for $300 AT MOST! Anyway, I aim to be doing Java/C++/iPhone programming, maybe some CSS, and some casual use (Web browsing, Hulu videos). Laredo Side Mirror with backplate...?

A couple of days ago, my side mirror popped off while I was backing out of the garage. The mirror and the backplate and the sorrounding plastic mold thing popped out but the actual mounted part didn't get damaged. Anyway, when I put everything back in the mirror was loose, and it went bye bye while i was on a highway. The plastic mold and the mount are still there ok but I don't have the mirror or the backplate (the thing the mirror is attached to that plugs into the mounted piece). I looked on ebay, it looks like people only sell the glass...without the damn backplate. What do I do? Do I really have to buy a whole new side mirror assembly? Oh yea, it is a 2006 JGC Laredo.

The fact is you received a job offer which means you passed the background / criminal/ education and reference check. In your profession, I can't imagine a potential employer extending a job offer without a thorough reference check. So, with that said, keep your composure, and advise your new employer of this letter that he will be receiving, explain that the management wrote it out of anger because you resigned. . When explaining, make sure you do so in a professional, calm demenour, don't say anything negative or go on and on about how unfair your ex employer was. Are the words "I love you" being used too much and too carelessly today?

I couldn't agree more with this. It took me a long to realize "i love you" is something that shouldn't be said all the time. There are many ways to show a person you love them. I had been with my boyfriend 5 months at the time and he had said i loved you. He always said he really hated saying "i love you" he barely says it to his family. We have now been together for a year and rarely say it because we don't have to say it to know we care about each other. Saying "i love you" is JUST a phrase. Doesn't mean you really do love someone. In my opinion true love is when you will do anything for someone, you care about them more than yourself, you don't have to say "i love you" for them to know you really do love them, your happy to be with them and wouldn't want to see them hurt in any way. This is what i think true love is, but i do believe there is no real term for true love. Everyone is different and has different views so everyone views love in many different ways. I am only 19 and my boyfriend is 24 him and i are at different stages of our lives but were still happy together. I think i still have a lot to learn about true love, it takes time to learn.

How to put shelves up using only finishing nails?

i have a set of 4 shelves that i had gt a long time ago. I now know where i want to put them but the problem is that the mounting hardware that was supposed to come with it is missing from the pack and all i have on hand are some finishing nails. I tried using two nails in each hole since the shelves already have the same type of fixture. so i tried attaching the shelves to the nails but it would sag and the nails would get pushed in as i would try to attach the shelves. Im really frustrated right now as i want to use them to organize but i dont know what else to do as this is my very first "remodeling" type project. What are some good places to trail ride on dirt bikes within 2 hours of the DFW area?

So around 6:30 I woke up with a whole lot of ear pain from my cold. The day before I had it in my right ear and simply took ibuprofen and the pain was soon gone. (Called Suphedrine, for nasal decongestant e_e) I've tried ear drops, olive oil, and a warm compress, all of which are very temporary relief. Droid power button ruined, what do I do?

On a road trip, I carelessly but my droid in a cup holder in my car not knowing there was only a half of a centimeter of water that condensed from a soda previously taken out. I forgot about it and went for a swim in my uncles pool. Not only did I not know there was water, but the power button had been soaking in only a few millimeters of water. I tried the rice technique and letting it dry. Nothing worked so I just gave up. Is there anyway to fix it without taking it in somewhere?

When babies teeth they get so fussy because the teeth come in and go back down. When he/she teeth start cutting through and you are able to actually feel the tooth it shouldn't take long for it to come all the way through. Hope this helps! :)

Did I fail on my first date?

Did I fail? It was my first date with this girl last night and I was nervous. I had no reason to be, but for some reason I was. I looked up and her facial expression was calling me a jerk. I said aggressively, "I'm the one paying for this". She didn't say anything and I felt regretful. After we finished eating dinner it got quietly awkward. I saw the waitress walk by so I said, "Can I get a refill please?" Then, instead of letting her take my glass I quickly raised it and accidentally tipped over my date's glass. Soda spilled all over her and I shouted, "Check please!" I told my date I would be right back because I forgot my wallet in the car. My wallet was actually in my pocket. I could no longer face what happened back there so I got into my car and drove home leaving her. ******* humiliating.

Detecting fake IDs and DLs?

I work at a Valero. Before I got hired on, I had to take my TABC. I have to admit, although I did pass the test, I learned it's not so easy to detect a fake ID as how my test made it sound. I am from Texas and see Texas IDs and DLs daily from cigarette and alcohol purchases. My main concern is, if there is any way possible to detect a fake by just observing it, besides the basic stuff like feeling the ridges, the magnetic strip, and the UV logo under the surface. I know there's many legit fakes out there, so I want to become excellent at detecting these things. One more question...does every ID or DL have a magnetic strip? I have come across a few from different states without it, that only have what seems to look like a large barcode. Could this be a sign of it being fake?

Going to sound strange, but bear with me. Completely cover the lens in instant rice. Make sure every inch is covered (without lens caps). Rice will draw out the moisture, may take several days to a week, but it worked for me last year with my Nikon.

I know of no double-sided tape that I would trust in this situation. Any tape that is strong enough to hold something like a wooden display unit on a wall is also strong enough to tear the paint off the wall when the tape is removed and that damage is harder to fix than a small nail hole. Double-sided tape might hold briefly, but not long term.

Can a bad pool pump affect roof solar heating of the pool?

Horizontal ridge on nail?

Nail trauma could cause it. I found from washing your hands too much can cause lines on nails to be much more deep and noticable. I got deep vertical lines and even one or two horizontal ones from that. Vitamins defiency could also be the reason for it. 2001 Grand AM GT 3400 V6 motor mount?

The passanger side motor mount looks to me like three parts, the rubber part mounted to the frame, the metal part from the rubber to the block, and another metal part bolted to the block and to the metal part from the rubber part. the metal part that is bolted to the block broke, while the metal part from the rubber part looks fine. Can I buy and replace just this one part or do I need to replace the whole unit? and will this same part of the mount be found on other GM 3400 engines of the same year? thanks.

(I know that method can be a little harsh, haha) If you propose the idea of the tattoo to them calmly and maturely, they may be convinced that you're ready to handle it. Is my security camera going bad or is someone distorting it?

I have a home security camera system. It is wired, weather proof, and has night vision. The wiring is mounted along the side of my home and I made sure to set it in the camera's view so there is no way for anyone to tamper with it without being caught on camera. My question is... is it possible for someone to distort or cause an interference with my camera from a distance and without being near the camera's wiring? First suggestion would be to pick up a good book on gunsmithing. If you like to work with guns you will pick up some great ideas. As for sandpaper, wet & dry with a grit no larger than 600 might work. You don't want to do something too harsh or you leave ugly marks on the barrel. You can buy cold blue material for touch up work...but it might not match the rest of the barrel. One thing you can do if you have a good buffing wheel is to buff the entire set of barrels and apply cold blueing to the full set of barrels...at least that will make them all the same color. If you really get into the project you can do hot blueing but that is messy and time consuming. And you still have to polish the barrels. Get a book, however, and follow some instructions for cleaning up the barrels. The gun is a good gun, possibly made by Rossi and sold first around 20 years ago, As for the sloppy varnish, you can also re-finish the gunstock and if you get ambitious, you can add some checkering. This could be a great project if you get into the idea.

Probably. That show has such a lack of imagination & refuses to actually have them stay divorced. Taylor is much more stable, although not as exciting as Brooke. I purchased my computer with windows xp installed, I was wondering is there anyway i can clear the virus or get Windows xp download as i have the key but not the disk, today i decided to scan it again with avast! Why does my hair grow so slow?

Six years ago I cut my hair to chin length. Since then it has only grown six inches. I read that hair grows at an average rate of 1/2 inch a month, At this rate my hair would have grown six inches in a year but it has taken six years to get that length. My hair is naturally curly. I have never colored it and I do not blow dry or straighten it. I take good care of my hair and rarely put it up. I am wondering if this is an indication of a disease. (I also read that nail ridges could be an indication. I have horizontal ridges on my nails.)

I need blackout shades for my bedroom!?

I have two regular sized windows in my bedroom that have blinds on them currently but every morning when the sun rises, I get up because of it and it's driving me crazy. So I bought a Kenwood deck from my friend. I had noticed that my stock deck was bolted on. And that I had no idea how to bolt my new deck down so it doesnt come out.
