Gay activists: why would you say it's okay to marry the same gender?

Since a pigeon, a guitar, or a toaster oven can't mutually express of consent to their love for the human in question, they can't get married. For the similar reasons, hunting isn't murder, nor is throwing out a foot stool child abandonment.
