Strong double sided tape for mounting a 40cmX40cm wooden display unit on wall?

I know of no double-sided tape that I would trust in this situation. Any tape that is strong enough to hold something like a wooden display unit on a wall is also strong enough to tear the paint off the wall when the tape is removed and that damage is harder to fix than a small nail hole. Double-sided tape might hold briefly, but not long term.
